You Don’t Know Me

I almost didn’t write it. I had another title picked, and after days of trying to make that one work, I scrapped it and picked this one. I wrote it in an hour and it’s probably my favorite out of the 14, if not out of all the songs I’ve written.

The point of the song truly is not to make a political statement, but to draw attention to the fact that no matter what side of things we are on, we are always making judgments about people on the other side, when they are probably a lot more like us than we realize. I think all of us would rather be known, than judged.
