For Adelaide…and not the one in Australia. I’m going to continue posting two songs every day this week so subscribe or check back this afternoon. Thanks!
Home Lyrics
Adelaide
You are beautiful
Starlight on the darkest night
Just a dot on the map no one can find
But you’re mine
Adelaide
You have seen it all
The loss and the love
And a house of prayer
Yeah the cross was tall but it was ours to bear
Ours to share
I will fly back home to you
We will try hard not to lose our memory
And I will cry only for you
And we will fly..fly right on through this lonely town
No more hangin’ around
Adelaide
Adelaide
We can’t say goodbye
So we poke our feet around the dust
Standin’ round in a circle as the time moves us
Past every wall, every window, every speck of rust
But…
I will fly back home to you
We will try hard not to lose our memory
And I will cry only for you
And we will fly..fly right on through this lonely town
No more hangin’ around
Adelaide

It has been so easy for me to pretend that nothing has changed and that your moms house is still the loving, familiar, cozy place that I remember it being. This song pretty much shot that to pieces. No more denial for me. I love it (and hate it.) I cried a cup of tears too…
Nice.
If I just cried a cup of tears Mom is going to cry a bucket when she hears this one!!! You put in words such a great keepsake of our memories of HOME.
Love you!
