Hugh Stay The Same

Before I had an idea for lyrics, I played a few bars of this music for my husband, who immediately said, “sounds kind of beatle-esque” to which I replied, “Yeah, I just keep picturing Hugh Grant every time I play it.”

So, he suggested the title, “Hugh stay the same” about how good ole Hugh plays the same character in every film…plus the song sounds like it belongs on one of the soundtracks for some such film.

A new face comes in the world

Blue eyes, boyish charm
Does he ever know what’s going on?
Maybe he’s happy maybe he’s sad
Hugh just never know

New lines, but Hugh stay the same

He stares at the camera
And makes a lot of money

Love sick, bumbling, and stumbling around
He might be mad, he might be confused
