Satisfied
You hover just above this busy
City of posers and empty souls
Playing a game reaching out, they invite you
To join the ranks of the shallows
And you’re taking shortcuts, cutting corners
To act like them and still be you
Is their depth within that head somewhere
Where God once had spoken
You’ve turned your feet and you’ve turned your face
And still, He’s never turned away
You’ve lost your head and you’ve lost your heart
And still you’ve never lost His grace
They fool themselves but we all know
Masked expressions are exchanged throughout this room
Where they’ve detached themselves from anything
They can’t relate to
No one’s going anywhere and
Compromise is kosher here
And God’s not often welcome
When did we fall
Do we even care at all
And I’ve turn my feet and I’ve turned my face
And still You’ve never turned away
And I’ve lost my head and I’ve lost my heart
But still I’ve never lost Your grace
As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness
I will not be satisfied with anything but You
As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness
I will not be satisfied until I am more like You
The only voice that I want to hear
Whisper in the dark
Is the voice of Your Spirit
And the only hands that I want
Reaching out to hold me close
Are the hands that set me free
