Slippery Slope
Title Submitted By: Cheri. Not sure of a last name, but I know we met at a concert in Spring Hill!
Genre: Folk-Rock, Indie
I wrote this song late, late one night. There are elements in it that I relate to, but also elements that I tried to make universal, for anyone who’s had to deal with the past to move on. It is my favorite song from this year’s FAWM and it will absolutely show up on an album in the future.
When I was a girl
I could tell you anything
And you would believe me
As long as you agreed
When I was a girl
Playing hide and seek
You never found me
I never let you see
I can put one foot before the last
It’s a slippery slope
When you gotta go back
Easy to slide, when you’re digging through the past
It’s a slippery slope
Travellin’ back
When I was a girl
I knew everything
About winning and losing
And shrouding my tears
When I was a girl
When I was a girl
I lost everything
Now I’m puttin’ it back
Piece by piece by piece

Yeah!! I love it! I knew you would find the right words. And yes, we did meet at a concert in Spring Hill you did with Shaun. I am thrilled that you like my idea. Can’t wait to hear you sing it!
